TANZANIA TO BENEFIT FROM ABE INITIATIVES

The Government of United Republic of Tanzania is among four African countries that benefits from Master’s Degree and Internship Program of the African Business Education Initiative for Youth (ABE Initiative) initiated by Japanese Government through Japanese Prime Minister Abe.

Speaking yesterday during a farewell ceremony at the President’s Office, Public Service Management the departing JICA Senior Representative Mr. Hajime Iwama said that the program supports youth who have potential to contribute to their countries.“This program will support young men and women from Private and Government Sectors to study Master Courses in Japanese Universities as international students and experience internships at Japanese enterprises.”

He said the aim of the program was to develop effective skills and knowledge so that they can contribute to the development of their societies. He listed other countries which benefits from the program as Republic of Kenya, Republic of Mozambique and Republic of South Africa.

Mr. Iwama explains that the implementation of the program started this year whereby 33 Tanzanians have been selected to attend Master’s Degree Program in Japan.Meanwhile, Deputy Permanent Secretary; President’s Office Public Service Management Mr.HAB Mkwizu said that JICA has been very instrumental in supporting Tanzania’s development through soliciting and allocating volunteers and experts to serve the needs of the people in different parts of the country.

He mentioned among the sectors supported by government of Japan through JICA as health, education and infrastructure development among others.Mr. Mkwizu assured JICA Reprentatives that Tanzania will continue to sustain the programmes and projects initiated by JICA in order to deliver desired benefits to the intended communities.
